Joining the strap

To join the strap you can either use metal loops which will help strengthen the strap or attach the strap directly to the bag.

With purple yarn, ch 130

Row 1 – Starting in the second ch from the hook, Sc in each stitch across. Ch1, turn.

Rows 2 – 3 – Sc in each stitch across, ch1 turn

To attach the strap you will need to sew the ends of the strap to the sides of the bag. I recommend sewing approximately 1” of the strap to the bag so that it is reinforced.

If you are using metal loops you will need to sew the two loops to each side of the bag. Then thread the strap through each of the loops and sew the end of the strap to the rest of the strap so that it loops around the hoop.
